Dexta Daps is a Jamaican dancehall and R&B-influenced singer from Seaview Gardens, Kingston — a neighborhood with deep ties to reggae and dancehall history. He channeled the hardships of growing up in that environment into music, developing a smooth, melodic vocal style that sets him apart from more traditional deejay-driven dancehall.
