Chaka Khan

Chaka Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1953, is an American vocalist whose career spans five decades. She first rose to fame in the 1970s as lead singer of the funk band Rufus, delivering hits that fused funk, soul, and R&B with a raw, powerful vocal delivery that earned her the title Queen of Funk.

As a solo artist, Khan became one of the defining voices of R&B and dance-pop, scoring major hits with «I’m Every Woman», «Ain’t Nobody», and «I Feel for You» — the latter notable as one of the first R&B crossover hits to feature a rapper (Melle Mel), helping bridge funk-soul and hip-hop for mainstream audiences.
