Blxst

Blxst, born Matthew Burdette, is a singer, rapper and producer from South Central Los Angeles who built his following through independently released music blending R&B melodies with West Coast rap sensibilities. Beginning his career around 2015, he broke through with the 2019 single «Hurt» before releasing the 2020 project No Love Lost, which included fan favorites «Overrated» and «Be Alone».

His sound is defined by warm, laid-back production, smooth singing delivered alongside rap verses, and a distinctly Los Angeles feel indebted to West Coast funk and G-funk traditions filtered through contemporary R&B. That crossover appeal made him a sought-after collaborator, and he has worked extensively with fellow LA artists Bino Rideaux and Mozzy, producing hits like «Selfish» and «I Ain't Perfect».

Blxst has since expanded into a broader profile as both a solo act and a go-to feature and producer for other West Coast artists, contributing to tracks that helped define the region's sound in the early 2020s.
