Arca

Arca, born Alejandra Ghersi, is a Venezuelan producer, composer and vocalist known for one of the most distinctive and boundary-pushing sounds in contemporary electronic music. Emerging in the early 2010s, she built a reputation for warped, fragmented beats and shape-shifting textures that dismantle conventional song structure, drawing from reggaeton, industrial noise and classical composition alike.

She first gained wide attention producing for Kanye West's Yeezus, and went on to become a key collaborator for artists including FKA twigs, Björk and Kelela — most notably co-producing Björk's acclaimed albums Vulnicura and Utopia. Her own solo albums, released under her name and pushing further into vocal performance and Latin club sounds on records exploring reggaeton and pop, have been widely praised for their fearless, genre-dissolving approach.

Arca has also worked extensively with visual artist doon kanda on cover art and collaborated with Shayne Oliver under various group names. Her music and public persona, embracing a fluid and transformative identity, have made her one of the most influential experimental artists of her generation, respected both in underground electronic circles and by mainstream pop figures who seek out her production.
