Anita Baker

Anita Baker is an American singer-songwriter celebrated for her deep, expressive contralto voice and her central role in shaping the sophisticated «quiet storm» sound of R&B in the 1980s. She began her career as lead vocalist for the Detroit group Chapter 8 before launching a solo career, and her early solo work on the independent label Beverly Glen included the song «Angel» from her debut album.
