Alex Isley

Alex Isley is an American R&B and jazz-influenced singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, part of the extended Isley family — her father is Ernie Isley of the Isley Brothers. She began classical vocal training as a child, later attending the LA County High School for the Arts and studying jazz at UCLA, where singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Kurt Elling shaped her phrasing and improvisational sensibility.

She emerged with the self-written and self-produced debut EP «The Love/Art Memoirs» in 2012, whose single «Set In Stone» reached a wider audience through its placement in the film «The Last Fall». Her sound blends smooth, jazz-inflected R&B with contemporary production, favoring warm vocal layering and understated arrangements over flashy hooks.

Songs such as «Into Orbit», «Good & Plenty», «About Him» and «Water & Air» reflect her intimate, conversational songwriting style, often drawing on personal experience.
