SiR

SiR, born Darryl Farris, is an R&B singer and songwriter from Inglewood, California, who spent years writing for other artists, including Jill Scott and Anita Baker, before stepping into the spotlight himself. He is the brother of rapper D Smoke, and that shared musical background shows in the warmth and melodic craft running through his own material.

After independently releasing his debut project Seven Sundays in 2014, SiR signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, putting out the Her EP in 2016 and its follow-up Her Too in 2017. His first full-length album, November, arrived in 2018, cementing his reputation for smooth, soulful production layered with introspective, often vulnerable songwriting about relationships and self-doubt. In 2019 he signed with RCA Records for distribution ahead of Chasing Summer, an album that further blended classic R&B sensibilities with contemporary hip-hop-inflected production.

As part of the TDE roster, SiR has worked alongside labelmates including Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Isaiah Rashad, and his songwriting pedigree gives his own records an unusually polished, narrative-driven quality. His music sits at the intersection of classic soul influence and modern West Coast R&B, marking him as one of the more consistent voices to emerge from that scene in the last decade.
