Sobre o artista
Depeche Mode é uma banda inglesa formada em Basildon em 1980, amplamente considerada uma das pioneiras mais influentes do synth-pop e do rock eletrônico. Originada de uma dupla anterior formada por Vince Clarke e Andy Fletcher, a formação ganhou forma quando Martin Gore entrou e Dave Gahan se tornou o vocalista principal, adotando o nome Depeche Mode a partir do título de uma revista de moda francesa. Seus primeiros sucessos, como «Just Can't Get Enough» e «Everything Counts», os consolidaram nas paradas do início dos anos 80, antes de o som se tornar mais sombrio e maduro ao longo da década.
Entre meados e o fim dos anos 80, a banda desenvolveu o som eletrônico sombrio, texturizado e com toques industriais que define sua era clássica, presente em faixas como «Strangelove», «Never Let Me Down Again», «Personal Jesus» e «Enjoy the Silence». Esse período consolidou sua reputação como um dos atos artisticamente mais relevantes da época, unindo composições introspectivas e sombrias a uma produção sintetizada inovadora; seus shows, incluindo o célebre concerto de 1988 no Pasadena Rose Bowl, são considerados marcos na história da música eletrônica.
Com mais de uma dezena de álbuns de estúdio, incluindo o mais recente, Memento Mori (2023), Depeche Mode vendeu dezenas de milhões de discos em todo o mundo e continua sendo referência do synth-pop, do rock alternativo e da música eletrônica próxima ao industrial, influenciando gerações de artistas posteriores.
