Anderson .Paak

Anderson .Paak, born Brandon Paak Anderson, is an American singer, rapper, drummer and producer from Oxnard, California, whose genre-blending style has made him one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary R&B and hip-hop. He began recording under the name Breezy Lovejoy before adopting his current stage name around the time of his album «Venice», which showcased his range across soulful balladry, West Coast anthems and hard-hitting rap.

His breakthrough came through prominent guest features, most notably a string of appearances on Dr. Dre's «Compton» in 2015, which introduced his rasping, soulful voice and live-band sensibility to a much wider audience. As a drummer as well as a vocalist, .Paak's music is built on tight, funk-inflected grooves, and his live shows are known for him performing behind the kit while singing lead. This musicianship set him apart from many of his contemporaries and became a core part of his artistic identity.

Beyond his solo catalogue, which includes songs like «Come Down», «Bubblin», «Tints» and «Am I Wrong», Anderson .Paak has built an extensive collaborative résumé spanning hip-hop, funk and R&B, later forming the duo Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars.
