Sobre el artista
Pet Shop Boys es un dúo británico de electro-pop formado en Londres en 1981, integrado por Neil Tennant (voz) y Chris Lowe (teclados). Surgieron a mediados de los años ochenta como uno de los grupos definitorios del synth-pop británico, combinando las letras ingeniosas y literarias de Tennant con la producción elegante y bailable de Lowe. Su sencillo «West End Girls» encabezó listas a nivel internacional y marcó el estilo del grupo: melodías melancólicas envueltas en arreglos de dance-pop pulido.
A lo largo de más de cuatro décadas, el dúo ha publicado numerosos álbumes de estudio y se ha destacado por canciones que mezclan comentario social, ironía y camp con auténtica profundidad emocional, como en «It's a Sin», «Always On My Mind» y «Being Boring». También han trabajado extensamente en teatro, bandas sonoras de cine y ballet, colaborando con artistas como Dusty Springfield y Liza Minnelli.
