Sobre el artista
Pentatonix es un grupo vocal a cappella estadounidense que saltó a la fama tras ganar la tercera temporada de The Sing-Off de NBC en 2011. El grupo está formado por Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola y Matt Sallee, quien se unió tras la salida del miembro fundador Avi Kaplan en 2017; Olusola aporta además beatboxing y chelo a los arreglos exclusivamente vocales del grupo.
Su sonido se define por armonías densas y minuciosamente construidas, percusión vocal en lugar de batería, y un repertorio que abarca desde versiones pop y R&B hasta canciones propias y, sobre todo, música navideña. Pentatonix hizo historia como el primer acto a cappella en ganar el Grammy a Mejor Arreglo, Instrumental o A Cappella, premio que obtuvieron tanto en 2015 como en 2016, y más tarde ganaron el Grammy a Mejor Interpretación de Dúo o Grupo de Country por una colaboración con Dolly Parton.
Además de su álbum homónimo de 2015, que encabezó el Billboard 200, el grupo es especialmente conocido por lanzamientos navideños como «That's Christmas to Me» y «A Pentatonix Christmas», consolidando su reputación como una de las voces definitorias de la a cappella moderna y la música de temporada.
