Yung Hurn

Yung Hurn, born Julian Sellmeister, is an Austrian rapper from Vienna's 22nd district (Donaustadt). He emerged in the mid-2010s as part of a new wave of German-language cloud rap and became known for a hazy, minimalist, autotune-heavy vocal style paired with sparse, atmospheric beats. Since late 2020 he has run his own label, LOVE HOTEL SOUNDSYSTEM.

He rose to prominence through collaborations with fellow Austrian and German artists within the cloud rap and Soundcloud rap scene, helping define a distinctly Austrian strand of the genre alongside acts like Crack Ignaz. His music blends rap with pop and electronic textures, often built around catchy, repetitive hooks delivered in a laid-back, almost detached vocal tone, as heard on tracks like «Bianco», «Ok Cool», and «Nein».

Yung Hurn's influence extends beyond his own catalogue, as he helped popularize a minimalist, melodic approach to German-language rap that shaped a generation of younger Austrian and German artists.
