Yung Bans

Yung Bans, born Vas Coleman in 1999, is an American rapper who emerged from the SoundCloud rap scene of the mid-2010s. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised largely in Atlanta, Georgia, he grew up on a mix of Chief Keef, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Wayne, and Young Scooter, influences that shaped his balance between hard trap rapping and melodic, sung hooks. He signed to Future's Freebandz label in late 2017, an early co-sign that helped establish him within the wave of young Atlanta-adjacent trap artists.

He built momentum through a prolific run of mixtapes, releasing the Yung Bans, Vol. series across 2017 and 2018, before delivering his debut studio album «MISUNDERSTOOD» in 2019. The record featured collaborations with XXXTENTACION, Future, Young Thug, and Lil Durk, placing him firmly within the interconnected SoundCloud-to-mainstream rap pipeline of the era. His breakout single «Lonely», featuring Lil Skies, remains one of his most recognized records and one he has cited as a personal favorite.

Stylistically, Yung Bans is known for blending Auto-Tuned melodic rapping with trap production, a sound that helped define the softer, more emotionally direct edge of late-2010s SoundCloud and mumble rap.
