YN Jay

YN Jay, born Jaylein Auther-Henry Cantrell, is an American rapper from Beecher, Michigan, part of the Flint-area hip-hop scene. He began recording as a teenager, drawing early inspiration from his older brother Gabe, and turned to music seriously following Gabe’s passing, releasing his debut project MVP in 2019.

YN Jay’s sound is rooted in the buoyant, high-energy Flint rap style, marked by playful ad-libs, party-ready hooks and explicit, humor-laced lyrics. He gained wider attention when tracks like «Coochie», featuring Louie Ray, and «Coochie Scout» went viral on TikTok, helping introduce the Flint sound to a broader online audience.

His debut album, Coochie Land, released in August 2020, cemented his reputation for irreverent, catchy anthems and frequent collaborations with fellow Michigan artists, including longtime collaborator Louie Ray. YN Jay has continued to build on this momentum with a steady stream of mixtapes and singles that lean into his signature blend of comedic bravado and regional bounce.
