Ying Yang Twins

Ying Yang Twins are an American hip hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia, formed by Kaine (Eric Jackson) and D-Roc (Deongelo Holmes), despite the name implying otherwise. Emerging in the early 2000s, they became central figures of the crunk movement alongside producers like Lil Jon, helping to popularize Southern hip hop's raw, party-driven sound built on booming bass, chanted hooks, and explicit, high-energy lyrics.

The duo broke into the mainstream in 2003 through their feature on Lil Jon's «Get Low» and a collaboration with Britney Spears on her album In the Zone. Their own singles «Salt Shaker», «Wait (The Whisper Song)», «Shake» and «Badd» became club and radio staples in 2004–2005, cementing their reputation as hitmakers of provocative, dance-floor-oriented crunk and pop-rap crossovers.

Beyond their commercial peak, Ying Yang Twins remained active through mixtapes such as The Official Work, Ying Yang Forever and Twurk or Die, sustaining their presence in Southern hip hop culture. Their track «Halftime» became a fixture at New Orleans Saints home games, showing their lasting cultural footprint well beyond the charts.
