Werenoi

Werenoi, born Jeremy Bana Owona on January 30, 1994, in Montreuil, France, to Cameroonian parents, emerged as one of the most striking voices in French rap in the early 2020s before his death on May 17, 2025, at the age of 31. He began releasing music in early 2021, and his 2022 EP «Telegram» was an immediate success, going gold within a year and establishing his gravelly, melancholic delivery as instantly recognizable within the French rap landscape.

His 2023 debut album «Carré» reached platinum certification and featured collaborations with major figures of French rap such as Tiakola, PLK, and Ninho, cementing his place among the genre's leading names. He followed with «Telegram 2» later that year, then in February 2024 released «Pyramide», his second studio album, which became a triple-platinum smash and the best-selling album in France for 2024.

Werenoi continued his prolific run with «Pyramide 2» in October 2024 and his third album, «Diamant Noir», in April 2025, featuring collaborations with major francophone rap stars. Known for blending raw, confessional lyricism with dark, atmospheric production, he built a rapid and intense catalogue in just a few years, becoming one of the defining artists of French rap's contemporary generation before his untimely death.
