Webbie is an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who emerged in the early 2000s as one of the defining voices of Southern, Louisiana-style rap. He built his name through affiliation with Trill Entertainment, the label founded by fellow Baton Rouge artist Lil Boosie (Boosie Badazz), with whom he frequently collaborated on gritty, street-oriented records.

His biggest commercial breakthrough came with «I.N.D.E.P.E.N.D.E.N.T.» in 2008, a Southern hip-hop anthem featuring Lil Boosie that reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and became a defining crossover moment for the Trill Entertainment roster.
