Walker Hayes

Walker Hayes is an American country singer-songwriter from Mobile, Alabama, known for blending country storytelling with pop and hip-hop cadences. After studying in college he moved to Nashville, landed a publishing deal, and briefly recorded for a major label, releasing singles like «Pants» and «Why Wait for Summer» without commercial breakthrough. Dropped from his deal, he worked at Costco to support his large family while continuing to write.

His fortunes changed through a partnership with songwriter-producer Shane McAnally and SMACK Songs, which led to the EP 8Tracks (Vol. 1): Good Shit and the loop-driven single «Shades». He later broke through fully with the conversational, self-deprecating «Fancy Like», a song about a fast-food date night that became a viral sensation and crossover pop hit.

Hayes is known for an unconventional, talk-sung vocal style, wry humor, and songs rooted in family life and everyday struggles, as heard in tracks like «AA», «Good With Me», and «90's Country». He continues to release material that bridges mainstream country and pop sensibilities.
