Ty Dolla $ign, born Tyrone William Griffin Jr., is an American singer, rapper and producer from Los Angeles who became one of the defining voices of modern R&B and West Coast hip-hop. He first broke through in 2013-2014 as both a featured hook man for DJ Mustard-era hits and a solo artist, with the breakout single «Paranoid» introducing his laid-back, melodic style to the mainstream. Coming from a musical family — his father played in Lakeside — he built his early reputation through mixtapes and EPs like Beach House and $ign Language before signing to Atlantic Records.

His sound blends smoky, sung-rapped vocals with West Coast funk and trap-influenced production, often exploring themes of romance, loyalty and heartbreak with striking emotional directness. His debut album Free TC (2015) was a personal project dedicated to his incarcerated brother, while Beach House 3 (2017) cemented his crossover appeal.
