Truwer

Truwer, born Sayan Zhimbaev on 17 July 1994 in Pavlodar, is a Kazakh rapper who emerged from the Jillzay collective, an Almaty-based crew led by his older peer Scriptonite. Performing alongside Scriptonite and other Jillzay members, Truwer built his early reputation through the group projects «718 Jungle» and «Open Season», developing a moody, bass-heavy style rooted in Russian-language trap and rap that blended melodic hooks with introspective, sometimes brooding verses.

After Jillzay disbanded in 2017, Truwer became one of the founding artists of the new label Zorski Bros., releasing that same year a joint album called «Сафари» with fellow rapper Юра 104. This period cemented his status as a distinctive voice in Central Asian and post-Soviet rap, known for a laid-back delivery and atmospheric production. In 2019 he joined Musica36, the label founded by Scriptonite, further tying his career to the artistic lineage that shaped his sound.

Truwer’s catalogue mixes Kazakh identity with the broader Russian-language rap scene, and tracks like «Uyat emes» and «Kіresіn» reflect his willingness to rap in Kazakh alongside Russian, giving him a distinct regional profile. His work often explores themes of family, loyalty, and personal struggle, delivered over minimalist, moody beats characteristic of the Musica36 sound.
