About the artist
Trueno, born Mateo Palacios Corazzina in La Boca, Buenos Aires, is one of the leading figures of contemporary Argentine and Latin American rap. He grew up immersed in music, influenced by his father Pedro Peligro, a Uruguayan rapper and freestyler, and by his grandfather Yamandú Palacios, a Uruguayan artist exiled after the 1973 civic-military dictatorship. Trueno began competing in freestyle battles as a preteen and rose to national prominence through El Quinto Escalón in 2016, quickly becoming one of the most dominant battle rappers in the Spanish-speaking world.
He transitioned from battles into a recording career marked by genre-crossing songwriting, blending rap with rock, pop and R&B influences, and Argentine urban rhythms. His breakout singles and collaborations, including tracks like «Mamichula» and «Atrevido», helped bring Argentine trap and rap to wider Latin American and international audiences, cementing his place among a new generation of Río de la Plata artists redefining the region's hip-hop scene.
Trueno continues to release music that moves fluidly between rap, rock and pop textures, maintaining strong ties to his freestyle roots while building an international career as a singer, rapper and performer.
