Trae tha Truth is an American rapper from Houston, Texas, one of the defining voices of the city's screwed-and-chopped-influenced rap scene of the 2000s and 2010s. He is the cousin of fellow Houston rapper Z-Ro, and the two have collaborated frequently over the years, helping cement Trae's place within the Houston rap lineage alongside artists like Slim Thug and Paul Wall.

His breakout single «I'm On» became a Houston anthem and later returned in remixed forms, including «I'm On 2.0» and «I'm On 3.0», which brought in guest verses from a wider roster of Southern rap artists.
