Timbaland

Timbaland, born Timothy Zachery Mosley on March 10, 1972, in Norfolk, Virginia, and raised in Virginia Beach, is one of the most influential record producers in modern popular music. Emerging from the same Virginia Beach scene that produced Pharrell Williams and the Clipse, he built his early reputation working with Missy Elliott and Ginuwine, developing a distinctive production style built on syncopated, glitchy rhythms, unconventional vocal samples, and futuristic electronic textures that broke sharply from mid-1990s R&B and hip-hop conventions.

Over the following decades Timbaland became a defining force across hip-hop, R&B, and pop, producing landmark records for Aaliyah, JAY-Z, and Nelly Furtado, and later reshaping his sound for the pop mainstream through his partnership with Justin Timberlake. Tracks like «Apologize» and «Give It to Me» showcase his ability to fuse dense, layered production with radio-ready hooks, while his own recordings, including «The Way I Are», highlight his work as a rapper and vocalist alongside his production credits.
