The Hoppers

The Hoppers are an American Southern Gospel family group formed in 1957 in the small farming community of Madison, North Carolina. Over more than six decades they have grown from local church performances into one of the most recognized names in gospel music, appearing at venues as prestigious as Carnegie Hall and at presidential inaugural events, as well as touring across Europe, Israel and Africa.

The group is built around close-knit family harmonies, a hallmark of the Southern Gospel tradition, and has long been associated with the Gaither Homecoming series of videos and concerts, which brought them to a broader national audience. Their catalog includes songs such as «Jerusalem», «Yahweh», «He Wrote My Name» and «Pure Mercy», recordings that have regularly charted on Billboard gospel listings and on The Singing News radio chart.

Today the lineup includes longtime members Claude and Connie Hopper alongside their sons Dean and Mike and Dean's wife Kim, continuing a legacy that has made the group a fixture of gospel singing conventions and church platforms across the United States. Connie Hopper has received numerous industry honors, including induction into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
