The Four Owls

The Four Owls are a British hip hop supergroup formed in the UK, bringing together four established rappers from the London underground scene: Verb T, BVA, Fliptrix, and Leaf Dog, each performing under a bird-themed alias (Bird T, Rusty Take-Off, Big Owl, and Deformed Wing respectively). The group is closely tied to High Focus Records, the independent label that has served as home to much of Britain's boom-bap and underground hip hop output over the past decade.

Musically, The Four Owls lean into dark, atmospheric production paired with dense, technical lyricism, often exploring themes of mortality, mysticism, and social commentary through their owl-themed conceptual framing. Their sound sits firmly within the UK underground hip hop tradition, built on sample-heavy boom-bap beats and multi-rapper trade-off verses that showcase each member's distinct style.

The group has released multiple albums built around their owl mythology, with production and mixing handled by longtime collaborator Chemo, who despite not being an official member also carries a bird-themed alias.
