The BossHoss

The BossHoss are a German band formed in Berlin in 2004, currently made up of seven members including founders Alec Völkel and Sascha Vollmer. They first gained attention with country- and rockabilly-flavored covers of well-known rock and pop songs, reworking familiar hits — like their versions of «Jolene» and «Word Up» — into their signature blend of country, rock and honky-tonk swagger, complete with cowboy imagery and a self-consciously theatrical stage persona.

Over time the band shifted its focus toward original material, moving beyond covers to build a catalogue of self-written songs that still carry the country-rock DNA of their early work but increasingly blend in pop and even rap elements. Their 2011 single «Don't Gimme That» became their biggest hit and only top-10 single, marking the commercial high point of the band's career and coinciding with founders Völkel and Vollmer's high public profile as coaches on «The Voice of Germany».

The band's 2015 album Dos Bros topped the German charts, their first number-one album. Across two decades The BossHoss have built a reputation as one of Germany's most durable crossover acts, known for high-energy live shows and a genre-blending approach that keeps country, rock and pop fans equally engaged.
