Tee Grizzley

Tee Grizzley, born Terry Wallace on March 23, 1994, is a rapper from the west side of Detroit, Michigan, whose raw, autobiographical storytelling made him one of the breakout voices of the city's hip-hop scene in the mid-2010s. Before pursuing music seriously, he served time in prison for home invasion, and his 2016 single «First Day Out», recorded shortly after his release, became a viral phenomenon that captured his unfiltered account of prison and street life.

The success of «First Day Out» led to a deal with Atlantic Records via 300 Entertainment, and Tee Grizzley followed it with hits like «From The D to the A», featuring Lil Yachty, which helped define the aggressive, bass-heavy Detroit sound that gained national attention in that era. His debut mixtape My Moment charted on the Billboard 200 without a single guest feature, an unusual feat that underscored his ability to carry a project on his own gritty voice and vivid narratives.

He later teamed with fellow Detroit-adjacent artist Lil Durk for the collaborative mixtape Bloodas and released his first studio album, Activated, which reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. Tee Grizzley's music is marked by an unvarnished, confessional style that documents survival, loyalty and the consequences of street life, cementing his place as one of Detroit's most influential contemporary rap voices.
