Tech N9ne, born Aaron Dontez Yates on November 8, 1971, in Kansas City, Missouri, is one of the most prolific and technically demanding rappers in hip-hop, celebrated for his rapid-fire, chopper-style delivery that blends punk, metal and horrorcore aesthetics with intricate multisyllabic rhyme schemes. He began rapping in the mid-1980s and cut his teeth with the group Nnutthowze before pursuing a solo path that made him one of the genre's defining independent artists.
