Tay-K, born Taymor Travon McIntyre, is an American rapper from Arlington, Texas. He began rapping as a teenager as part of the local group Daytona Boyz before pursuing a solo career. His music is built on aggressive, bass-heavy trap production paired with blunt, confrontational lyrics reflecting the street life and legal troubles that came to define his public persona.

Tay-K's career became inseparable from his legal history: while facing murder charges as a juvenile, he cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor and fled, eventually recording his breakout single «The Race» while a fugitive. The song's viral success, driven partly by the drama of his manhunt, made him a notorious figure in rap far beyond his hometown scene, and it remains by far his best-known and most streamed track.

He was captured by U.S. Marshals in 2017 and later convicted, which effectively curtailed his ability to build a conventional career; releases since have been limited, often issued while he was incarcerated.
