SXTN

SXTN were a German hip-hop duo formed in 2015 by rappers Juju (Judith Wessendorf) and Nura (Nura Habib Omer). Nura was born in Saudi Arabia and Juju has Moroccan roots; both grew up in Germany. The name SXTN came from a friend of the pair rather than carrying any deeper meaning, referencing a person named Sixten whose name they jokingly «borrowed».

The duo first gained attention through YouTube tracks before signing to the label Four Music, releasing their debut EP «Asozialierungsprogramm» in 2016. Their debut album, «Leben am Limit», followed in 2017, reaching number eight on the German charts with tracks like «Bongzimmer» and «Von Party zu Party». SXTN became known for blunt, provocative lyrics and a defiant «femme fatale» persona that pushed back against expectations for women in German rap.

By late 2018 the working relationship between Juju and Nura had broken down, and the pair went their separate ways, with Juju addressing the split publicly on Instagram. Despite the group’s short run, SXTN left a notable mark on German rap as one of the most visible female acts in a male-dominated scene, and both members went on to pursue solo careers.
