Super Sako

Super Sako, born Sarkis Balasanyan, is an Armenian-American rapper, DJ and producer who became an international sensation in 2016 with «Mi Gna» (Don't Go), a song written by Artak Aramyan featuring the Armenian rabiz vocalist Spitakci Hayko. Uploaded to YouTube without a video, the track exploded across Armenia, the Armenian diaspora, Turkey and the Arab world, eventually racking up well over 150 million views and even topping Shazam's weekly search chart in Turkey ahead of songs by Ed Sheeran and Clean Bandit.

Although his sound blends rap, pop and R&B with Middle Eastern and Caucasian pop influences, Super Sako identifies first and foremost as a rapper. «Mi Gna» appeared on his album «Love Crimes» and was followed by a Greek-language version, «Θέλω να σε ξαναδώ», which extended the song's reach into new markets. He has continued releasing bilingual and multilingual material, including «Missin' You», «NO» and «Baby Come Back», reflecting his position at the crossroads of Armenian pop culture and Western urban music.

The runaway success of «Mi Gna» pushed Super Sako onto stages far beyond Armenia, and he toured internationally on the strength of a single viral hit — an unusual trajectory that turned a regionally rooted diaspora artist into a genuine cross-border pop phenomenon.
