Soprano

Soprano, born Saïd M'Roumbaba on January 14, 1979, in Marseille, France, is a French rapper and singer of Comorian descent who became one of the most popular voices in French urban music. He began his career as a member of the Marseille collective Psy 4 de la Rime alongside Alonzo, Vincenzo and DJ Sya Styles, whose album «Enfants de la Lune» earned gold-certified success and helped define the southern French rap scene of the 2000s.

As a solo artist, Soprano moved beyond straightforward rap toward a melodic, radio-friendly pop-rap sound blending catchy hooks, personal storytelling and social commentary. His debut solo album «Puisqu'il faut vivre» established him as a major name in French music, and subsequent releases cemented his crossover appeal between hip-hop and mainstream pop audiences.

Songs like «Hiro» and «Roule» showcase his knack for narrative songwriting and emotionally resonant choruses, elements that have made him a consistent chart presence in France.
