Soolking

Soolking, born Abderrahmane Bouhlal on December 10, 1989, in Algiers, is an Algerian singer, rapper and dancer who has become one of the most streamed francophone artists of his generation. He started out in breakdance crews before moving toward rap and R&B, relocating to France in 2014 and building his solo career from 2016 onward, working with the Marseille label Hyper Focal before signing to Affranchis Music.

His breakout came with tracks like «Guérilla» and «Dalida», blending Algerian raï and chaâbi influences with French rap, Latin rhythms and Balkan-inflected pop, a fusion that became his signature sound. His debut album, «Fruit du démon», was a major commercial success in France, and songs such as «Zemër» and «Liberté» resonated strongly with the Hirak protest movement in Algeria, turning him into a symbolic voice for a generation.

Soolking has collaborated widely across French rap and beyond, appearing on projects with artists like Dadju, SCH, Black M and Heuss L'enfoiré, and continued to expand his multilingual, multicultural sound with releases such as «Meleğim» and «Milano». His music sits at the crossroads of North African, French and Mediterranean pop traditions, making him a distinctive figure in contemporary francophone urban music.
