Sofiane

Sofiane, also known as Fianso, is a French rapper from the Seine-Saint-Denis department, specifically the town of Le Blanc-Mesnil. He began performing at a young age alongside his early group, Les Affranchis, which included longtime collaborator and producer Nock-Pi. He was first noticed through the Karismatik label, releasing the EP «Première Claque» in December 2007, a project that established him as an artist to watch within the French rap scene without yet reaching a mainstream audience.

His 2009 project «La vie de cauchemar» confirmed his standing among the new generation of French rap, and he became especially known for his freestyle work throughout 2010, the year that solidified his reputation. He left Karismatik in 2010 and continued to build his career independently and through various label associations in the years that followed, becoming associated with the collective 93 Empire alongside other artists from the Seine-Saint-Denis scene.

Sofiane's music is rooted in French hardcore and street rap traditions, marked by direct, often confrontational lyricism reflecting life in the Paris suburbs. He remains one of the notable figures of the 93 department's rap scene, recognized for his freestyle skills and his role in shaping a generation of French street rap.
