Sniper

Sniper is a French rap group formed in the late 1990s in the Val-de-Marne region near Paris, built around rappers Tunisiano and Aketo, with Blacko and DJ Boudj as founding members. The group emerged from the wave of French hip-hop that gained mainstream traction in the early 2000s, blending hard-hitting street narratives with accessible, radio-friendly hooks that helped bring rap to a wider French audience.

Their breakthrough came with the album «Gravé dans la roche», which produced several hit singles and established their reputation for socially conscious yet melodic rap. DJ Boudj left after that record, and the group continued as a duo before further changes reshaped the lineup over the years. Albums like «Trait pour trait» and «A toute épreuve» followed, with Tunisiano and Aketo carrying the group through a period when members also pursued solo careers.

In the mid-2010s Sniper reunited with Blacko, touring across France and later working toward new material. The group remains a reference point in French rap for its ability to merge storytelling about banlieue life with catchy, melodic production, influencing a generation of French-language hip-hop acts.
