Sleaford Mods

Sleaford Mods are an English musical duo from Nottingham, consisting of vocalist Jason Williamson and producer Andrew Fearn. Blending elements of post-punk, electronic minimalism, and a spoken-word, rap-adjacent delivery, they built a distinctive sound around Fearn's stripped-back, bass-driven loops and Williamson's deadpan, often furious vocal style, delivering biting social commentary on class, work, and everyday British life.

The duo gained wider attention in the early 2010s with releases that captured the frustrations of austerity-era Britain, with tracks like «Jobseeker» and «TCR» becoming touchstones of their confrontational, working-class perspective. Their music sits at the intersection of punk attitude and electronic production, eschewing traditional band instrumentation in favor of Fearn's minimal, groove-based backing tracks.

Sleaford Mods have remained a fiercely independent act, known for their DIY ethos and unpolished, direct approach to songwriting and performance.
