SLAVA MARLOW

SLAVA MARLOW, born Artyom Gotlib in Novosibirsk, is a Russian musician, producer and audio engineer who rose from YouTube let's-play and comedy content to become one of the defining voices of Russian trap and melodic hip-hop in the early 2020s. He began releasing music under various alter egos before settling into his own name, and his early production and songwriting work on the collaborative album Legendarnaya Pyl helped establish his sound: emotionally raw vocals, moody minor-key melodies and richly layered self-produced beats that blend trap, pop and electronic influences.

MARLOW writes, produces and mixes much of his own material, giving his catalogue a distinctly cohesive, cinematic feel across hits like Ty Gorish Kak Ogon and Bystro, which combine confessional lyrics about heartbreak and self-destruction with hooks built for mass appeal. His 2020 self-outing, after being threatened with exposure of his real identity, only accelerated his visibility, and he has since become one of the most streamed Russian-language artists of his generation, respected as much for his behind-the-scenes production work for other artists as for his own performing career.
