Shindy

Shindy, born Michael Konrad Schindler in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, is a German rapper who began writing rhymes as a teenager. He first gained wider recognition in 2012 as a guest on fellow rapper Kay One’s album «Prince of Belvedair», also recording the single «Finale wir kommen» with him. He was subsequently signed to Bushido’s label ersguterjunge, releasing the single «Panamera Flow» under the imprint.

His 2013 debut album «NWA» («Nie wieder arbeiten») topped the charts in both Germany and Austria, though it was quickly indexed by German authorities over content deemed to glorify violence and discriminate against women and homosexuals. A revised edition, «NWA 2.0», followed weeks later with several tracks swapped out. That same period also saw a public feud with Kay One via the diss track «Alkoholisierte Pädophile».

Shindy’s sound is defined by hard-edged trap and gangsta-rap production paired with a confrontational, streetwise delivery, placing him among the more provocative and commercially successful figures in German-language rap. His subsequent releases built on the momentum of «NWA», cementing his reputation as one of the genre’s defining and most controversial voices in Germany.
