Shady Records

Shady Records is an American hip-hop record label founded in 1999 by rapper Eminem together with his manager Paul Rosenberg, launched under the wing of Interscope Records after the massive success of The Slim Shady LP. The label quickly became one of the defining forces in 2000s and 2010s rap, built around Eminem's own releases as well as a roster of artists he championed and mentored.

Over the years Shady Records has been home to acts such as D12, Obie Trice, Stat Quo, Cashis and Slaughterhouse, and it played a pivotal role in launching the career of its biggest-selling signee, 50 Cent, whose debut Get Rich or Die Tryin' became a global phenomenon. The label extended its reach beyond records through Shade 45, a dedicated Sirius XM radio station, and a branded special edition of XXL magazine.

In more recent years Shady Records has continued to sign new talent, including Westside Boogie, GRIP and Ez Mil, while also backing the duo Bad Meets Evil, pairing Eminem with longtime collaborator Royce da 5'9. The label's catalog is marked by dense lyricism, dark humor and technically driven rap, cementing its reputation as one of hip-hop's most influential independent-minded imprints.
