Shaboozey

Shaboozey, born Collins Obinna Chibueze on May 9, 1995, is an American singer, rapper and songwriter of Nigerian descent raised in Northern Virginia. He began writing poetry, short stories and music as a child before moving into a genre-blending career that fuses country, hip-hop, Americana and pop. Rather than fitting neatly into any single lane, his sound leans on twangy guitars and rootsy storytelling layered with hip-hop cadences and modern pop production, positioning him as part of a wave of Black artists reshaping the boundaries of mainstream country music.

Shaboozey built a cult following through independent releases before breaking through commercially with «A Bar Song (Tipsy)», a smash hit that topped the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the longest-running number-one songs on the chart, drawing on a sample of J-Kwon's «Tipsy» while filtering it through a country-rap lens. His profile rose further through guest appearances on Beyoncé's «Cowboy Carter» album, including the track «Spaghettii», which introduced him to an even wider audience and underscored his standing at the intersection of country and Black musical traditions.
