Sfera Ebbasta

Sfera Ebbasta, born Gionata Boschetti on December 7, 1992, near Milan, is one of the pioneers of modern Italian trap. He began releasing music in the early 2010s and broke through in 2015 with the mixtape XDVR, a collaboration with producer Charlie Charles that defined a new, minimal, bass-heavy sound in Italian rap and helped popularize trap as a mainstream genre in Italy.

His 2016 debut studio album Sfera Ebbasta and the follow-up Rockstar (2018) cemented his commercial dominance, blending Auto-Tuned melodic hooks with hard-hitting 808-driven production, as heard on tracks like «Rockstar» and «Cupido». In 2018 he co-founded the label BHMG with Charlie Charles and Shablo, further shaping the direction of Italian trap through a stable of affiliated artists.

Sfera Ebbasta has continued to top Italian charts with releases such as Famoso (2020), and his catalogue including songs like «Tran Tran», «Bang Bang» and «Serpenti a Sonagli» remains a reference point for the genre's evolution in Italy. He also served as a judge on X Factor Italia, extending his influence beyond music into mainstream Italian pop culture.
