Sexyy Red, born Janae Nierah Wherry on April 15, 1998, is a rapper from St. Louis, Missouri, whose stage name grew out of a childhood nickname tied to her red hair, later expanded by a cameraman during her early recording days. She began rapping after writing a diss track about a cheating ex, releasing her first song «A Thousand Jugs» in 2018 and following it with her debut mixtape, Ghetto Superstar, in 2021.

Her breakthrough came in 2023 with «Pound Town», produced with Tay Keith, which spread rapidly on social media and established her explicit, high-energy style built on blunt sexual bravado and raw St. Louis street slang.
