Scylla

Scylla is a French rapper known for a striking, instantly recognizable voice paired with a dark, introspective persona, often described by fans as having «an ogre's voice with an angel's face.» He first emerged as part of the collective O.P.A.K., releasing two albums with the group in 2004 and 2006, before launching his solo career.

His solo work is built around a conceptual, almost thematic approach, exploring recurring motifs of introspection and inner turmoil across successive projects. The 2009 EP Immersion introduced his solo universe and earned him stage time at major events like the Dour Festival and Couleur Café, as well as a tour alongside Rockin' Squat of Assassin. He followed with Thermocline in 2011, a free digital release, before the full-length album Abysses continued the metaphorical descent suggested by his song and project titles like «Douleurs muettes» and «Second souffle».

Scylla has remained an active figure in French-language rap, contributing to the Booska-tape and the collective album Inglorious Bastardz, while collaborating widely across the francophone rap scene. His style blends technical, dense wordplay with emotionally raw subject matter, and songs like «Répondez-moi», «J'réclame», and «Clope sur la lune» showcase his reputation for lyrical depth and a distinctive, world-weary flow that has made him a respected figure among fans of underground French rap.
