SAINt JHN

SAINt JHN, born Carlos St. John Phillips, is a rapper and singer of Guyanese descent who grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Raised without his father present, he followed his older brother into music, initially rapping under the name Carlos Saint John with a more aggressive, less melodic style than the sound he became known for later. Before breaking through as a solo artist, he built a career as a songwriter, earning co-writing credits on tracks for other artists, including Usher's «Crash» and «Rivals».

As SAINt JHN, he developed a genre-blurring style that moves fluidly between rap, R&B, pop and electronic-leaning production, marked by melodic hooks and moody, textured atmospheres. His breakout hit «Roses» became a global phenomenon after Kazakh producer Imanbek's remix turned it into a worldwide dance and radio hit, propelling songs like «Trap» and «Monica Lewinsky» to wider audiences as well.

He is affiliated with the collective GØDD COMPLEXx, and his catalogue reflects an artist equally comfortable writing hits for others and crafting his own idiosyncratic blend of singing and rapping.
