About the artist
Rohff, born Housni M'Kouboi in Mbéni, Comoros, in 1977, moved to France as a child and grew up in the Paris suburbs, first in Saint-Ouen and later in Vitry-sur-Seine. He is one of the most influential figures of French rap, having emerged in the late 1990s as part of the broader Mafia K'1 Fry collective while also pursuing a prolific solo career.
Deeply shaped by American hip-hop icons like 2Pac, Dr. Dre and The Notorious B.I.G., Rohff built a style rooted in dense, technically sharp wordplay and a distinctive, gravelly delivery, often addressing themes of street life, loyalty, betrayal and personal struggle. His debut single «Appelle-moi Rohff» in 1998, produced by DJ Mehdi, launched his career, and his first album Le Code de l'Honneur the following year established him as a rising force in the French rap scene.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Rohff released a long string of albums and singles, including tracks like «Dounia», «Zlatana» and «Testament», cementing his reputation as one of the genre's most enduring and commercially successful artists in France. His work has consistently balanced introspective and socially conscious lyrics with the more combative, battle-ready energy typical of the French rap tradition he helped shape.
