RK

RK, born Ryad Kartoum, is a French rapper from Meaux, a city in the Seine-et-Marne department east of Paris, of Algerian descent. He first gained wider attention when Sofiane performed a cover of RK's early track «1ère Mi-Temps» on the Planète Rap radio show, and he further built his following through a series of freestyles that showcased his melodic, hook-heavy style within the French rap landscape.

His debut album, Insolent, released in 2018, achieved platinum certification and established him as one of the notable young voices in French rap. He followed it with Rêves de gosse in 2019, certified gold, and Neverland a year later, an album marked by high-profile featurings with artists like Maes, SCH and Leto. His fourth album, 100 rancunes, arrived in 2021, continuing his steady presence in the French urban music scene.

RK later expanded his catalog with the two-part project Mentalité, released in October and December 2022. Across his discography, tracks like «Bae», «Moscow» and «24 Carats» reflect his approach of blending catchy, radio-friendly hooks with the broader trap and rap sensibilities popular in France, making him a consistent presence in French rap charts throughout the late 2010s and early 2020s.
