Rich Gang

Rich Gang is an American hip-hop supergroup formed in 2013 by Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman, who assembled a rotating cast of artists from the Cash Money and Young Money orbit and beyond. Rather than a fixed duo or trio, the project functioned as a collaborative banner uniting label affiliates for joint releases, capturing the sound and energy of the Cash Money/Young Money camp at that moment.

The group's debut, self-titled album Rich Gang, arrived on July 23, 2013, spotlighting the roster's ability to trade high-energy verses over trap-leaning, Southern-rooted production. A later, widely discussed installment paired rising stars Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan under the Rich Gang name, producing tracks such as «Lifestyle» and «Tapout» that became key moments in the mid-2010s rise of Atlanta's melodic trap sound, alongside other cuts like «Milk Marie», «Givenchy», and «Flava».

Rich Gang functioned less as a conventional band and more as an umbrella for Birdman to showcase and cross-promote talent within his orbit, reflecting the collective, label-driven ethos common in Southern hip-hop at the time. Its catalog remains notable for helping launch and popularize artists who went on to significant solo careers.
