About the artist
Rascal Flatts is an American country trio formed in Columbus, Ohio, in 1999, consisting of lead singer Gary LeVox, bassist Jay DeMarcus, and guitarist Joe Don Rooney. Building on close vocal harmonies and a pop-leaning production style, the group became one of the defining acts of mainstream country music in the 2000s, blending traditional country storytelling with arena-ready hooks that also appealed to pop and adult-contemporary audiences.
Over two decades the trio released eleven studio albums and dozens of singles, with fourteen reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Songs like «Life Is A Highway», «Bless The Broken Road», «My Wish», and «What Hurts The Most» became staples of American radio and were widely used in films, television, and sports broadcasts, cementing the band's crossover appeal beyond the core country audience.
In January 2020 Rascal Flatts announced they would disband after a farewell tour, closing out a twenty-year run as one of the best-selling country groups of their era. Their catalog remains a touchstone for pop-country production and vocal-driven songwriting.
