Rancore

Rancore is the stage name of Tarek Iurcich, an Italian rapper from Rome born to an Istrian father and Egyptian mother. He began engaging with rap culture around age 12 and started his own musical path at 14, honing his skills at Rome's Phat Roma freestyle sessions before releasing his debut album, SeguiMe, in 2006. He has described his chosen name as capturing a feeling of societal resentment that is often mishandled or poorly channeled, positioning his music as a way to process and transform anger rather than simply express it.

A turning point came in 2010 with his collaboration on «Lo Spazzacamino» alongside producer DJ Myke, launching a partnership that produced two albums and two EPs together through 2015. This period established Rancore as a distinctive voice in Italian rap, known for dense, conceptual lyricism and a willingness to explore darker, more introspective themes than much of the mainstream Italian hip-hop scene.

Following the end of his work with DJ Myke, Rancore continued as a solo artist, releasing material that furthered his reputation for intricate wordplay and thematic ambition, as heard on tracks like «S.U.N.S.H.I.N.E.», «Sangue di drago», and «Eden». His music is often noted for its literary, almost theatrical quality, blending anger, catharsis, and social commentary within Italy's rap tradition.
