Pezet

Pezet, born Jan Paweł Kapliński in Warsaw in 1980, is one of the most respected figures in Polish hip-hop. He began his career in the duo Płomień 81 alongside producer Onar, releasing several albums before establishing himself as a leading solo artist known for introspective, poetic lyricism paired with jazz- and soul-influenced production.

His solo catalogue, including projects like «Muzyka Klasyczna» and «Muzyka Poważna», is marked by conceptual titles and a reflective, often melancholic tone that set him apart from more aggressive strands of Polish rap. Songs such as «Nie Zobaczysz Łez» and «Dom Nad Wodą» showcase his ability to combine personal storytelling with social observation. He has also collaborated with his brother, Małolat, on a joint album.

Pezet is widely credited with helping expand the emotional and stylistic range of Polish rap, influencing a generation of artists who followed. His work is frequently discussed as essential listening for understanding the evolution of hip-hop in Poland, and he remains active as both a performer and a respected elder statesman of the scene.
